About Us
Who We Are
Rangakarmee is a tradition, a culture, a movement. The historical repertoire founded by Smt. Usha Ganguli and launched in January 1976 in Kolkata, continues to spearhead the Hindi theatre space in Kolkata. Rangakarmee, under the aegis of proficient theatre personality Usha Ganguli, embarked on a mission to break all barriers and reach out to the audience of West Bengal, pan-India and beyond boundaries. To spread Rangakarmee’s message, Usha Ganguli created a unique language and style of communication, solely dependent on theatre, that cut across languages spoken by different communities in India and worldwide.

“Theatre lives in the now fleeting, raw, and electric. Behind that moment is a world of trust, toil, and belief. It’s the only art that mirrors your soul while challenging it, gives you a voice while making you listen. Step into it and you confront something more real than reality itself…..”
Mr. Anirudh Sarkar
Director, Rangakarmee
